May Ward

True to her name, May joined Outspoken Media in May of 2018 as a marketing assistant. She loves being a part of projects that involve math, data, or anything analytics. Her specialty is creating custom Google Data Studios to track ranking data and successes for each client.

May has lived in the NY Capital Region since 2005, after being adopted from Ethiopia the same year. She received her BS in Business from Siena College where she studied both Digital Marketing & Communications and Strategic Human Resource Development. Before joining the Outspoken team, May worked for Sunmark Federal Credit Union as their marketing assistant. She handled the company’s Google Analytics & Adwords accounts, helped create content for various social media platforms, managed promotional materials for the mortgage department and a variety of local realtors. It was at Sunmark where she discovered her passion for digital marketing and SEO, and continues to dive deeper into the depths of the industry.

In addition to establishing a career in marketing in the Capital Region, May has also been heavily involved in the local modeling community since 2014. She has been in countless boutique, bridal, and freelance modeling gigs. Her favorite part is helping an artist’s vision become a reality, and counts each opportunity as a chance to have fun and show creative expression!

Positivity is Key

“Positive thinking is more than just a tagline. It changes the way we behave. And I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better.”

May believes that viewing life through a more positive lens makes all the difference when tackling tough days, and she brings that joy and optimism to the office each day. When she’s not in the office spreading good vibes, May loves learning about other cultures, their food, and trying out new recipes. She’s a die-hard Pinterest fan, and is constantly attempting to accomplish all the DIY projects she has saved on her Pin Boards. Any other free time, you can find her trying to sharpen her gardening skills and perfecting the interior design of her home.
