Dawn began building websites when she first discovered the Internet in 1997, and has been in love with it ever since. She got a job answering phones and doing customer service for a Web agency in Guelph, and in a few short years had worked her way up to Senior Designer. She became interested in various aspects of Web development, including accessibility, usability, and search engine optimization, ultimately heading up the SEO division.

Dawn is particularly interested in the technical side of SEO, and has experience working with small businesses and local search. She has a strong dislike of the challenges wrought by IIS servers, and is intrigued by the intersection of social media and search. Dawn received a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph in 2003 and went on to complete the Web design program at Conestoga College in 2004.

Dawn occasionally blogs on her own site, dawnwentzell.com. When she’s not online (which is rare), you can find Dawn doing various renovation projects on her home or playing with her pets.
