Blogging, Setting World Records At BlogWorld 2010

October 8, 2010
By Lisa Barone in Internet Marketing Conferences

It may be my first day back in the office after SMX East but there aint no rest for the wicked around here. It’s almost time to pack up and head out again!

On Wednesday, I’ll be heading to Sin City to attend BlogWorldExpo and I’m super amped about it. Because while I love all you SEO folk dearly, as a blogger there’s nothing quite like attending a conference full of bloggery people that I can talk to about bloggery things. Some people do hard drugs to experience euphoria. I go to BlogWorld every October.

I value my sanity, so I won’t be liveblogging this time around. However, to help folks at home experience the magic with me, I will be writing recaps of some of the sessions I find most interesting and sharing tips that I think will benefit readers. I have my schedule somewhat mapped out in my head, but I’m curious to hear what YOU want me to cover.

Here’s a look at the sessions I’m thinking of hitting and writing about. Take a look at the BlogWorld schedule and tell me what you’d like to see covered next week. I’ll try my best to incorporate as many of your suggestions as I can, or grab interviews with the speakers you’re most interested in hearing from.

Thursday, October 14

8:30am: Stand Up, Stand Out, Stand Together (Morning keynote with that Unmarketing guy)
11:00am: Location! Location! Location!
4:00pm: How To Survive a Snark Attack

Friday, October 15

11:00am: The Brand Of You: How To Build a Profitable Social Media Based Business
12:15am: Breaking the Guinness Book of World Records. [see below]
2:45pm: Monetization Super Panel

Saturday, October 16

9:30am: 7 Harsh Realities of Blogging For Bucks
11:00am: How to Package Your Thoughts Into Messages and Your Messages Into Money
12:15pm: From Blog to Book
3:30pm: 5 Strategies Bloggers Should Learn From Online Marketers

On Friday, October 15 I’m going to take a little break from attending sessions in order to do something pretty cool. I’ll be pairing up with the folks at Gourmet Gift Baskets to help them break the Guinness Book of World Records for the World’s Largest Coffee Cup. I’ve been given the honor of pouring the very LAST cup of coffee when the record is declared. How cool is that?! So if you’re going to be in Vegas, come to booth #335 next Friday (Oct. 15) and cheer me on. It’s sure to be a lot of fun.

And that’s it! Are you coming to BlogWorld? If so, let me know in the comments. Also, don’t forget to share the sessions you’re most interested in hearing about.

[If you’re reading this thinking you’ve had ENOUGH conference coverage to last you a lifetime, we’ll soon be creating a liveblog-free RSS feed for you to subscribe to. We know not everyone enjoys the fast-paced stuff. Soon you’ll only have to read it if you want to.]
