Our e-commerce client has amassed huge email list from over 10 years in the business. Not long after their Facebook page up and running, we were letting email subscribers email newsletters, reinforcing the message with each one.

Conversely to what Levi said, I think it’s also a good idea to reward your email subscribers with special promotions not offered through social channels. Cause what’s the point of subscribing to an email if you’re getting all the same deals through Facebook (twitter…etc)?

Well put sir! Funny thing, I just had this convo with someone earlier this morning.

Something along these lines that I’ve seen great success with is the addition of an email to the welcome series that invites new email subs to partake in a promotion that is only being given to (enter favorite social channel here) fans. Works quite well IF done correctly.
