Thanks for bringing this topic up. I remember Marty’s article last year. I currently use a feed reader but it has all my personal stuff in there too. No Perez, I swear.

Joe, great to see your progress with social mention.

I’ve been begging Raven to integrate an some kind of RSS management tool so client feeds and custom searches can easily be separated and information be gathered in one system.

Lisa, how do you handle multiple clients in iGoogle? Different logins or just one main dashboard?

Thanks for sharing this Lisa, really its GOLD! I have been trying to grow ‘bigger ears’ as Chris would say. I saw the photos of the Gatorade and Dell centers and they make NASA look like amateurs.
I use G.Reader for all my feeds but its easier to have a quick look on one page. Thanks for this, now its all in one page.

I’ve experimented with other monitoring platforms like Radian 6 but they are way too much information for startups and SMBs. I’d never thought there would be such a thing as “too much info” until I got into the industry but it’s true. Your tips on selecting what’s relevant and what isn’t should help a lot small business owners cut through the noise and yield some actionable data. Great post as always.

Yikes! Thanks for dropping the link. I haven’t experienced any hiccups with iGoogle, but I’ve had enough issues with Google Docs that I can see it happening.

I really *only* use iGoogle for monitoring. Most of my RSS feeds and stuff are kept in Google Reader. But I like having a screen I can leave up and simply flip through when I have a few moments. As you said, it really is a big time saver. And, you know, it’s totally free.
