Lisa, I just watched the Brene Brown Ted talk. I recently read a book by her, which was so amazing - "The Gifts of Imperfection". It talks about her "research" into shame resilience, and how all of us deal with setbacks and shame, but its how we bounce back from them that shows us the stuff we are made of.
She is a tremendous writer, and now I know she is a great speaker too.
Thanks for sharing this one - I've been following Brene on Twitter for awhile! :)

Hi Lisa, Glad you enjoyed my "dear cancer" post, and thank you so much for sharing it with your readers. I also was a HUGE fan of Brené Brown's TEDx video on vulnerability and it's in the queue for as a topic for a future blog post. I'll be sure to share that with you when it comes out! I'm following you on Twitter so will continue to read your weekly round-up, but if anything else comes across your desk/Twitter feed/email that you think would make good fodder for my blog (something at least loosely connected to cancer/living the good life) please pass it along!

Lisa,

There is a book I started reason by accident last week called "Business Stripped Bare by Richard Branson." I couldn't sleep and stumbled across it in bed the other night. Downloaded it and before I knew it was 3am. Good book. He gives a great perspective into the power of people and how it relates to building something for the greater good by investing in people and building global brands as a direct result. He goes way beyond margins and being in the black. The book isn't concentrated on the typical fundamentals you read about in self improvement books related to business. It's an earthly perspective without the cliche's of Yoga or meditation. It's unique and a quick read too. Long island?! Good call!

This Is Why I'm Fat: Cereal Marshmallows.

In other news, I've seen similar studies to that spread-of-opinion research. The problem is that getting that many "committed" people is so exceedingly rare on most issues. It's not enough that you entertain or even hold the opinion - you have to be committed to it to such an extreme that it largely defies reason. "Unshakable" beliefs are rarely a good thing.
