Twitter is a relationship building social site. In this age and time, relationship building is very much important. Unlike the old days when businesses were built on strong competition, social media marketing and the Internet marketing methods of late is based on relationship.

There is room for us all, so building ones business on relationships makes it fun, easier and loving. Like Nick say, its better to have 3000 targeted relationship than 3000 untargeted relationship. With 3000 targeted relationship, you have the chance to interact with your customers, knowing what their likes and dislikes are and providing them the right solution on the spot instead of given them the solutions months or years.

kudos to all
Thanks

I totally agree, marketing on twitter is all about building a relationship first. To many people are going in for the hard sell and not getting any results.

I would rather have 3 thousand targeted followers who like me, than 30k untargeted followers who could care less about what I have to say.

If mass following random people were to be effective you would literally have to have a few million people following you.

But even if you were just hitting them with unrelated offers, they wouldn't buy from you anyway.

There are some really good features in twitter. I also don't think that robots are the best way to go either.

If you sat down for 30 minutes a day, and focused on building real relationships with like minded people you would be way better off in the long run.
