Thanks, Michael! Yes, it was nice to be able to chat outside of prepared presentations, and when not running between sessions. :-)

I think word of mouth is still the most reliable way to share information about a business or service, and make an informed decision about whether to use it. Sometimes the traditional ways give the best results, as we’ve discussed before regarding superior customer service provided through things like handwritten thank-you notes.

It will be interesting to see such a shift, and how digital communication is incorporated into it. I don’t know yet whether I’ll be in Vegas, but I look forward to hearing your take on this!

Excellent coverage Michelle! Also, great to hang out and enjoy some laughs with you in press/speakers room.

On the shift away from reviews to wom, I see the signs of change already in the works. This week more than before, there was lots of discussion regarding local reviews and the level of trust associated to them. As trust erodes, people will increasingly return to the analog old-school method of learning about new businesses, by asking friends. There's a digital model of this in full effect, by way of interoffice email/messaging systems, quite popular in larger tech based companies. I'll have more data on this topic in November, at PubCon Las Vegas.

Cheers!
