Jason Steven Murphy
Business Development Coordinator
Jason Steven Murphy is the Business Development Coordinator at Outspoken Media. He joins us from the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute here in Troy where he worked for nine years as a Project Manager and then Communications Specialist. The many years of creating and executing all manner of EMPAC’s marketing and outreach efforts dovetail perfectly with running down our numerous leads and fostering new business relationships. He earned a Master’s degree in Electronic Arts from RPI and a Bachelor’s in Cinema Production from Ithaca College, and has had his hands (and words and live video) in the Troy arts scene for many years.
Originally from vaguely rural Maine, Jason Steven enjoys overly logical and needlessly verbose conversations with his young daughter, eating his wife’s amazing cooking, reading comic books, and listening to music at too high of a volume. He lived for ten years in downtown Troy and is glad to be back among its awesome restaurants, arts spaces, farmers market, and bars. Being walking distance to his favorite comic book shop certainly does not hurt, either.
And yes, you can call him simply “Jason” if you want.
